Orthoceras Standing Tower

£34.95

Orthoceras (meaning ‘Straight Horn’) fossils were among the earliest forms of life and date back to around 400 million years old.  They are the fossilized remains of an extinct marine animal, which were washed together by the ancient sea currents.  The unique shell of these nautiloids were once divided into gas filled chambers, which enabled these creatures to keep buoyant in water.  A rather grand fossil which has some great properties and they also make a splendid display piece, too!  This ‘one-off’ tower stands at around H26 x W7cms and weighs about 2.464g.
